A New York Fashion Week collaboration with Samantha Black x Adjua Styles .

A Magical New York Fashion Week

People from all over the world come to the city that never sleeps to attend and  work New York Fashion Week .Stomping the New York City pavement with their rolling makeup cases and hair cases. Some models, designers, and wardrobe stylist’s’ dreams come alive during this time of the year.

A magical day in New York City as I entered Lavan Midtown to work the Samantha Black   x Adjua Styles  New York Fashion Week show .  As the Rum Punch flowed, and the lyrical rhymes of Hip Hops 90s- 2000s music played loudly on the runway floor.I had the absolute pleasure of  helping backstage of  the kick off of New York Fashion Week.

 My job responsibilities included taking the Samantha Black NYC  x Adjua Styles clothes out of the garment bags. I also was in charge of steaming garments. It was my first time working with a heavy duty professional fashion steamer. I had to  change out the hangers to a more uniformed black velvet hanger. Which was more professional and seamless for fashion. I was introduced to a young lady who was also helping out from Canada ,who is currently attending  Fashion institute of Technology aka F.I.T! The guest list included faves on social media . Many influencers, and media personalities for instance, Loren Lorosa From the Breakfast Club , and Styles P, the rapper and member of  hit 90s iconic rap group, The Lox. The Designers were Samantha Black NYC of Sammy B designs  and Adjua Styles of Signature by Adjua Styles. An array of leathers, and bold colors were this year’s statement pieces by the designers.  I saw Salt X.O. founder Jhalesa Seymour, who was wearing a Samantha Black yellow suit . It was a blazer and  shorts.  The sponsors of the event were Salt X.O ,  Arachne hair tools,Nail tech: Lynnnewyork, and the BTS styling team on glam .The BTS styling team  was led by Brithestylist,  A Philly hair and makeup artist; her team included many  talented, enthusiastic and passionate  hair and makeup artists. In the crowd and sea of people, I was able to spot many Notable New York City  girls …  From beauty influencers to founders, to Fashionistas including Karen Mitchell  of True Indian Hair, Dr Bobbi, Keysrebelle, Cheesmalls, Monroe Steele, Kayla Greaves,Shaun Ross,  Rashawn  Cardwell ,and many many more NYC socialites.

The Hairstyles on the models  were a reenactment of a neatly slick back vertical bow.  Bri the stylist , the team lead said  “It was a Sleek ponytail with an edgy twist”. 

Sammy B is a women’s ready to wear clothing line that is feminine with an eclectic edge.

Samantha Black has her clothing  brand in Nordstrom, the department store. You may have recognized her  from Project Runway, Season 11. Samantha  was  mentored under the late great Alexander Mcqueen in London. You may have seen notable celebrities like Beyonce and Brandy rocking the Sammy B Designs NY.
