My mother inspired me because she is a successful salon owner and she inspired me to walk in her footsteps.
Can you share a memorable moment from your early days in the industry? The first time I began my journey, I opened my books and they filled up within 5 minutes!
How do you define your brand within the beauty space?
My brand in the beauty space is defined by a commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and authenticity.

Being a part of this feature means a lot! I’ve worked extremely hard to make a difference in the natural hair world so it feels good to be recognized.
Where do you see yourself in your career five years from now?
In five years I see myself successfully selling my all-natural hair care line “Southern Belle Organics”
Who are some of your biggest influences in the beauty industry?
My mother, Lashonia Turner is my biggest influence in the beauty industry.
What areas of expertise set you apart from other professionals in your field?
An area that sets me apart from other professionals is that I specialize in results. Every single one of my clients sees growth and a change in their natural hair.
How vital are diversity and inclusivity in the beauty industry, and how do you contribute to it? Diversity and inclusivity are crucial in the beauty industry as they reflect a broad range of perspectives and cater to diverse consumer needs. I contribute by promoting a wide range of different hair types and lengths ensuring inclusivity and representation in my offerings.
Can you share some advice for aspiring beauty professionals looking to make their mark?
Don’t compare yourself to other Beauty professionals. Comparison is the thief of joy! Keep going! Stay true to yourself.
What role does innovation play in your approach to beauty and haircare? Innovation is pivotal in my approach to beauty and hair care. I consistently explore new techniques, product ingredients, and styling tools to ensure an individualized hair care routine for each of my clients.
How do you balance staying true to your style while keeping up with industry trends?
I have never followed the trends. Natural hair care is my lane and I have thus far progressed and succeeded in this area.
What challenges have you faced in your career, and how have they shaped your journey? Throughout my career, I’ve encountered various challenges, such as navigating industry shifts and adapting to evolving market demands. These experiences have been instrumental in shaping my journey by fostering resilience, problem-solving skills, and a continuous commitment to learning. Each challenge has been a valuable opportunity for growth and improvement.
What upcoming projects or collaborations can your fans and readers look forward to? One upcoming project that my fans and readers can look forward to is my all-natural hair care line which comes out in March I have worked hard on it so I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.
What’s your favorite beauty hack or product you can’t live without? My favorite beauty hack is the Silver Bird Blow Dryer.
How do you stay motivated and inspired in a constantly evolving industry like beauty? I remember that kindness and good customer service never go out of style. Staying true to yourself and your brand will always make you stand out.
